Kennesaw Police Department’s Chief Bill Westenberger has been named the 2019 Kennesaw Citizen of the Year

Chief Westenberger has been with the Kennesaw Police Department for 15 years. He is a graduate of Honorary Commanders 2011 and Leadership Cobb 2019. He is the founder of Through Our Hearts, a group of community leaders whose mission is to bring the community together to help those in need.

Chief Westenberger participates in a number of programs focused on positive youth development, such as Character Education at Kennesaw Mountain High School and a myriad of programs at the Bill Thrash Kennesaw Teen Center. He hosts the Chief’s Youth Advisory Board and co-hosts Accelerated Community Engagement, and is a past District Representative and Executive Board Member for the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police.
